My sisters, sister-in-law, and I shared a rota of care for my mother in her later years. We took turns to stay with her so that she could remain in her own home. As she became immobile carers visited daily to assist with her care. When Mom began to suffer with dementia, we first lost the Mom we knew and loved, finally losing her several months later on her death. I wrote these lines during that time and in sharing them, share something of that journey in the hope that it may help others in a similar situation.
