The tiny little king lives alone in a castle with a tower and tall pine trees, and a lake that glimmers in the moonlight. He eats breakfast each morning in his orchard of apple trees, eating lemon cake and drinking tea, and wishing that he could wear his ruby crown, too heavy for his little head. But outside the stone walls of his castle the villagers are poor and hungry, the dockyard empty and dry, and the farmer is angry.
