One man and his dog climb the peaks of the Welsh borderland. 

The first and second parts of this book contain around twenty-two walks which the author, Michael Shiner, undertook in the late 1980s. These walks represent a selection of those which he had originally walked in the 1960s. The walks are all within the border area between England and Wales. Each walk is documented in detail, including the route taken to get there and relevant local information. Michael also describes the interesting characters and adventures with which he meets during the course of walking in this beautiful area. The author was in his late sixties at the time of these adventures and was walking in the company of a golden retriever called Fiona. The last part of this book documents the author’s return to the same area ten years later.
