This book is a first hand account of a life spent working on a large country estate in the mid twentieth century, written by a man who spent his entire working life at the same place.

Malcolm Walford started work on the Croome Estate in August 1953 and completed sixty years of service in 2013. His story catalogues the changes he experienced over the years, including the coming of mains water and electricity, the various owners of Croome Court itself including the Hare Krishnas and ends with its being leased by the National Trust.
