Deborah Ferneyhough-Sweet was born in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, on 26 December 1958 to Donald and Barbara Sweet. Her father was the owner of the well-respected firm B. Sweet & Sons, Undertakers.
 
Deborah is married to Charles Ferneyhough, and they have three grown up children, and three grandchildren.
 
Deborah is the published author of Forest Diaries, 2013. She writes short stories and poetry and is an exhibiting artist.
