This volume conjures a host of aspects of home. Poems illumine the ties of kin, identity with place, origin, the challenge and solace of love, our galactic home and our very sense of self. The title poem is inspired by the repeated entreaties of a dementia sufferer who pleads, ‘I want to go home’.
The poet writes with a light, sometimes irreverent touch, yet simultaneously surprises by capturing the profound, unusual or rarely observed. His poetry is eloquent, wide-ranging, mature and accessible.
